Your Safety Matters

At The Cycle Haus we care about your safety. We work hard to keep our bikes in top notch condition for a safe and enjoyable experience. Since there is not a Cycle Haus employee on site to help you with your self-service rental, there are additional risks. You can help minimize these risks by following a few simple safety guidelines:

  1. Know your abilities: It’s important to know your physical abilities and limitations. Make sure you’re healthy enough to ride and have the balance necessary to ride an electric bike. Remember, electric bikes are heavier than traditional bikes and can take a little more effort to stabilize.
  2. Wear a helmet: Helmets save lives. Please make sure to choose a proper fitting helmet from our helmet locker. Multiple sizes are available to choose from.
  3. Check your bike: Take your bike for a test ride. Familiarize yourself with the gearing, brakes, and electronic modes. If you have any concerns with the bike, please call us at 208-689-3436 Ext 1.
  4. Watch your speed: Our E-bikes have a top speed between 14 MPH and 20 MPH but there’s no need to go that fast. High rates of speed increase the risk of serious injury in a crash. There’s no rush! Take it slow on the trail and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
  5. Walk the bike to and from the trail: The Trail of the Coeur D Alenes is mostly flat and paved but the road going to the trail can be steep and rocky. Please walk your bike to and from the trail.
  6. Bring Food & Water: Services can be limited on the trail. Make sure to drink plenty of water and take breaks as needed.
