Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where does your shuttle go?

A: The Trail of the Coeur D Alenes

Our shuttle services the Trail of the Coeur D Alenes, a 73 mile trail that spans North Idaho.

Our 8AM eastbound shuttle departs Harrison, ID and heads northeast along Hwy 3 and I-90. We stop at Bull Run, Cataldo, Pinehurst, Kellogg, Wallace, and Mullan. You'll then cycle back to your vehicle.

Our 10AM wesbound shuttle departs Mullan, ID and makes the same stops in reverse. It arrives back in Harrison by 12PM.

Our custom shuttle allows you to be picked up and dropped off at a location and time of your choice.

Q: Where can I park?

A: There is ample free parking available

If you are catching our shuttle in Harrison, there is ample street parking throughout the City. Parking is free and street parking is allowed up to 48 hours. If you need to park longer than 48 hours, please contact City Hall.

If you are meeting us at a Trailhead, please use official trailhead parking. Do not park at local businesses. Overnight parking is not allowed at Trail of CDA Trailheads.

Q: What type of bikes fit on your shuttle?

A: Acoustic Bikes, Electric Bikes, Fat Tire Bikes

Our shuttle can transport most acoustic bikes and electric bikes. We can accommodate most fat tire bikes up to 5."

Most tandems cannot fit on our shuttle. There are special occasions, on days with low ridership, where these can be transported inside our shuttle. Please call for details.

The recumbents rented by The Cycle Haus are specially fitted to our shuttle trailer; however we cannot guarantee your recumbent will fit. Foldable recumbents can generally be transported inside the shuttle.

Q: Can I get a ride from Plummer?

A: It's almost as quick to bike to Plummer as to drive.

Cyclists on the Trail of the Coeur D Alenes get a shortcut across Lake Coeur D Alene. This makes it almost as quick to bike to Plummer as to drive to Plummer. We recommend starting your ride in Harrison and riding this section of the Trail as an out and back. This is a 16 mile bike ride each way.

If you still require a ride to/from Plummer, we can often accommodate this with our custom shuttles. Please call 208.689.3436 to book.

Q: Can kids, kids bikes, and trailers go on the shuttle?

A: Yes

Kids, Kids Bikes, and Trailers can all ride on our shuttle.

Kids Bikes, Child Trailers and Pet Trailers will ride inside the shuttle. Trailers will need to be folded up.

Please note that we do not provide child seats or boosters, so you will need to bring these with you. You can leave these on the shuttle and pick them up when you return to Harrison. Please confirm with us that the shuttle will be returning to Harrison in your required timeframe prior to making a booking with child seats/boosters.

Q: Can you pick me up or drop me off at a location not on your route?

A: Yes, we can often accommodate custom pick up or drop off locations, subject to availability.

If you need to be picked up or dropped off at a location close to our regular route, we can often accommodate this. Please call 208-689-3436 to confirm.

For locations not on our route, such as the City of Coeur D Alene, Plummer, St Maries, or the Hiawatha, please book a custom shuttle.

Q: Why do you have a 2 person minimum?

A: We operate a large 14 passenger bus and trailer

Our shuttle is a large 14 passenger bus which takes extensive fuel to operate. It doesn't make environmental or economical sense to operate the shuttle with less than 2 passengers.

Q: If I book 2 tickets, but only have 1 rider, will you refund my money for the extra ticket if more people book the shuttle after me?

A: Yes

Yes, if you are a single rider, but are booking 2 tickets to reserve your shuttle, we will refund your money for the extra ticket if the shuttle later meets or exceeds the 2 person minimum. Please just ask the attendant on the day of your ride if the minimum was met with another rider. If it has, we will issue a refund for the additional ticket you purchased.

Q: Can I book a shuttle for Mon, Wed, or Fri?

A: Yes, custom shuttles are available, subject to driver availability.

We can often accommodate custom shuttles on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. Custom shuttles are private shuttles to and from the location of your choice at the time of your choice. Please call 208-689-3436 to confirm driver availability and to make reservations.

Q: Can you take me to the Hiawatha?

A: Yes

Shuttles to and from the Hiawatha are available from our partners at The Spokehouse. This shuttle takes riders from Wallace, ID to Taft, MT at 10AM. One way or roundtrip service is available. This shuttle is frequently used by riders looking to ride Moon Pass. Please note that this is not the shuttle operated by Lookout Pass that takes riders from the bottom to the top of the trail.

The Cycle Haus provides free shuttle service to and from the Hiawatha when you rent 6 or more bikes. We also provide custom shuttles for pickup locations outside of Wallace. Please call 208.689.3436 for details.

Q: What if I can't book online?

A: You may be trying to book a single ticket on a shuttle that doesn't have riders yet.

Due to our 2 person minimum, our system will not allow you to book a single ticket on a shuttle that doesn't have any riders yet. Please either book 2 tickets or check back later to see if other riders have made a booking. After there are 2 people on the shuttle single tickets become available.

Q: Do you offer any discounts?

A: I'm glad you asked! Of course we do.

Riders who book both bike rentals and shuttle service save $5 per ticket on acoustic bikes and $10 per ticket on E-Bikes.

If you have a group of 8 ore more, and are also renting bikes from us, you can save an additional $5 per shuttle ticket. Just use coupon code SHUTTLE26 at booking.
